Tour Blog 3 - Las Vegas

Man, so my first 1/2 hour in vegas, and I can't say i'm thrilled. Vegas is CRAZY hot, and 60 bucks got taken out of my checking account w/out me acutally getting the cash. I guess the heat causes atm machines to malfunction... that blows.

Anyways, I found a little cafe to sit here and blog about. the drive was fast, but not too scenic. I'm about to go do fun stuff, like walk the strip, and i have aspirations of a picture in front of the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.

I spend the afternoon the other day hanging out w/Ms. Loperina and her boy TravTrav. It was fun, I forget how big San Diego is, and the weather was nearly perfect. Man, why am I not there. We ate sketchy museum food, but then all was forgiven after eating at Beef 'n Bun...yes, theres a burger shop (not gay bar) called Beef in Bun. Wonderful milkshakes, I am quite remiss after having opted to not have the Peanut Butter Chocolate shake. I have a show tomorrow @ the Bunkhouse, if anyone is in vegas please come, because I'm playing with no local bands, and I have a feeling not many people will show. Anyways, thats all. DPG out, Erik out, Peace out.

Tour Blog 2 - LA take 2

The show last night at the Smell pretty much freaked my freq. I was blown away by each performer, Nosaj Thing had the maddest beats, DeathSet and Ponytail had super high energy, and Captain Ahab melted my face. ITS TRUE! Go to the smell and you will see a small puddle of flesh which used to be my face, I'm now a hideous faceless monster, but it was worth it. Seriously, if you ever have the chance to catch any of these performers, do it!

I was a little shell shocked by LA. Every time I leave, I always think that all the things I remember about it are just exaggerated in my memory, like the traffic, the way people dress, the crazy people, but then I come back, and its all even crazier than i remember. Getting from Sunset to Downtown took me about an hour in rush hour traffic, and i was stressed. Luckily the show went well, the smell had a great sound and energy inside, it was wicked fun.

Right now I'm stoked to see my fam and friends in SoCal. I'm hanging with the sister today, and seeing some people in San Diego tomorrow, and all in all just trying to soak in the SoCal expereince. I"m playing Pehrspace on Monday, so if you're in the area on the 9th you should check it. Yay!

Tour Blog 1 - LA part 1

So I just arrived in LA after two days of what seemed like driving forever, because it was practically forever. I stayed with the folks last night, that was fine. I'm pretty tired, and I have no a/c, so I'm happy to be in a cafe w/internet access and air conditioning (even if it smells nasty). LA is different than I remembered it, I'm kind of having culture shock. I'm playing with Captain Ahab and Nosaj Thing in like two hours, and I'm supaphyched. It was freaking 105 degrees on the 5, and i had all the windows down, and i now have a wicked farmers tan. Anyways, I decided that i"m going to update my blog as much as I can on this lil' ol tour of mine. Take care all, and if your close to one of the cities I'm playing , come check it out, or if you think theres somewhere else I could play w/in the next two and 1/2 weeks, lets work it out.
